Board Election

2025 Regular District Election

The next regular election of the Eaton Area Park & Recreation District is Tuesday, May 6, 2025. This will be a polling place election, with the option of obtaining an absentee ballot. Three board positions will be filled, each to serve a four-year term.

 

Call for Candidates Closes Friday, February 28, 2025

Self-nominations and acceptance forms will be accepted beginning January 1st, 2025, and are available for pickup at the Eaton Area Community Center.  Completed self-nomination and acceptance forms must be returned by Friday, February 28, 2025. Forms should be dropped off at the Eaton Area Community Center’s Welcome Desk.

Qualifications to be a candidate:

·         Must be an active registered voter in Colorado

And either:

·         A resident within the boundaries of the Eaton Area Park & Recreation District; or

·         The owner (or spouse/civil union partner of an owner) of taxable real or personal property situated within the boundaries of the Eaton Area Park & Recreation District; or

·         A person who is obligated to pay taxes under a contract to purchase taxable property within the boundaries of the Eaton Area Park & Recreation District.

 

Absentee Ballots

Eligible voters may apply for an absentee ballot on or before Tuesday April 29, 2025. The application must be filled out completely and signed by the applicant. The application can be mailed or emailed as follows:

Beginning Sunday, April 6, 2025, absentee ballots will be mailed to voters on the Permanent Absentee Voter List maintained by the office of the Weld County Clerk and Recorder and to those who have submitted an absentee ballot application. For applications received after April 6, 2025, absentee ballots will be mailed within 72 hours from the date of receipt of the application. If you do not receive your ballot, please contact the DEO at 970.502.8392 or email trishaconway@eaprd.com.

Voter Eligibility

Eligible electors of the Eaton Area Park & Recreation District:

·         Must be an active registered voter in Colorado

And either:

Key Election Dates:

January 01, 2025: First day Self-Nomination and Acceptance forms can be filed with the DEO

February 28, 2025 (5pm): Last day Self-Nomination and Acceptance forms can be filed with the DEO

March 03, 2025 (5pm): Last day to file Affidavit of Intent to be a Write-In Candidate with the DEO

March 21, 2025: UOCAVA Uniformed and Overseas Citizens Absentee Voting Act Ballot mailing begins

April 29, 2029: Last day to request an Absentee Ballot

May 6, 2025 (7:00am – 7:00pm): Election Day
